How can we teach literacy to make sense for all students in the classroom?

By incorporating multisensory elements (e.g., objects, sounds, touch) we can make literacy accessible and an embedded skill for students. The Sensory Packs will be used with familiar books and reading texts as a literacy resource to support students to:

• Develop vocabulary
• Build comprehension
• Focus on key language skills
• Build confidence
• Develop communication skills
• Literacy Sensory Pack/s on a book and / or topic themes
• Please bring a favourite book and resources you have on hand with you on Friday
• A range of resources will be available to create the Literacy Sensory Packs
• Take the Pack created with you back to your school at the end of the day
